Job Description The Senior Lab Technician plays an important role in ensuring company maintains high quality standards. He will ensure the Lab Assistants are organized, trained and maintain professional conduct to undertake laboratory activities, both on customer sites and within company. He will be required to maintain effective liaison with company resources and external stakeholders and ensure the timely communication with senior management (both verbal and written). The Senior Lab Technician will be required to have an in-depth understanding of concrete processes, composition and related testing standards.

Principal Accountabilities :

Health and Safety (Safety Management Skills, Integrity and Values Competency)

· Zero personal involvement in accidents.

· Communication of Health Safety policies and issues to all subordinates.

· Conduct Tool-Box talks as directed by the Technical Supervisor / Manager.

· Perform regular inspections to ensure full compliance with Personal Protection Equipment, safe systems of work, etc.

· Perform risk assessments as and when required.

· Document all accidents / incidents in the approved company format.

· Commit to and achieve policy rules on limits of working hours by employees.

· Communication of Health Safety policies and issues to all subordinates.

· Report and document all accidents / incidents / Near misses for himself and his team in the approved company format.

Environmental Management (Environmental Management Skills)

· Awareness and adherence to statutory regulations and decrees.

· Inspire workforce to understand the importance of a clean and tidy work place.

· Establish routines and monitoring mechanisms to ensure waste is recycled or kept to a minimum.

Quality Assurance (Customer Focus Competency),

· Foster a positive attitude to supporting any quality program pursued by company.

· Supervise the technical team to ensure the technical department runs in an efficient manner.

· Delegate responsibilities and ensure testing regimes are adhered to.

· Produce reports and statistical analysis as required.
