HEAD OF MEDICAL EQUIPMENT PLANNING

Professional Experience:

Minimum of Ten (10) years experience in Biomedical Engineering in leadership role with a proven record of Diagnostic testing and repairs on the Radiology range of Medical devices. Bilingual candidates (English/Arabic) desired with UAE driving License

Education other requirements:

• Professional Chartered Engineer

• B.Sc. Biomedical Engineering

• Membership of a Professional Engineering Institution or Society

• Capability to read CAD drawings

• Good organizational skills, and mainly in MS-Word, MS-Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.

• Exceptional communication skills

Position Summary:

• Applicants must have extensive knowledge of healthcare planning, facility, and basic requirements in addition to up-to-date medical equipment knowledge on pre-required services to complete the installation and commissioning process. Will be responsible in the procurement process of the purchase of new capital medical equipment.

• Responsible for but not restricted to Radiology Equipment (PET/CT, SPECT/CT, CT, MRI, X-Ray, Ultrasound, Mammography, and Catheterization Laboratory, Neuro-Navigation Equipment, Central Monitoring Systems, and Hospital Furniture)

• Ability to evaluate and justify the need for Manufacturer’s Service Contract vs. In-house maintenance.

• Strong clinical knowledge of the application part of the equipment, which would enable him/her to clinically communicate with the Project team at all times.

• Ability to perform the necessary periodic checks and preventative maintenance for all Equipment as per the recommended standards (AAMI, ANSI, UL, FDA, JCI, and NFPA).

• Manage and control the critical stock of spare parts to keep the Equipment in safe and functional condition.

• Prepare and perform the initial safety test, end-user training, demonstration, and continuous in-service for all equipment.

• Assumes 24-hour responsibility for the management and operation of all medical equipment.

• Ability to respond to any medical equipment maintenance request needed throughout the hospital.

• Coordinates budgetary planning of new and expansion of existing services.

• Establish maintain relationship with the existing business partners.

• Responsible for Business development close monitoring of regional market trends for activities/projects related to the supply and consumption of FDG.

• Ability to communicate with regulatory authorities (Ministry of Health, Federal Authority of Nuclear Regulations, Civil Defense, Dubai Police, and Dubai Municipality) for issues related to site registration licensing and manufacturing.

• Search for devices and consumables that compliment the company’s product portfolio.
