The Cast/Plaster Technician will be responsible for applying casts to patients following a wide range of orthopedic surgical procedures, providing specialist advice to patients and colleagues regarding plaster casting, and the eventual removal of casts.

•Higher Secondary School or its equivalent AND Certificate of completion Plaster Technician Technical qualification from an accredited institution
•Licensed or eligible for a license as Plaster Technician according to the UAE requirements by either Dubai Health Authority (DHA) or Health Authority of Abu Dhabi (HAAD)
•Minimum 2 years post graduate experience as a cast technician
•English language proficiency is a must and Arabic language skills would be highly regarded
•Basic computer literacy skills
•Strong service culture orientation. At ease functioning in a multicultural environment
•Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
•Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
KEY OUTPUT:
•Participate in continuous Improvement Plaster Technique’s Practices appropriately implement quality improvement strategies
•Advice given to patients regarding care of casts
•Responsible for removal of casts
•Awareness of basic first aid measure and signs of infections
•Patient’s data is accurately documented and maintained
•Stock and equipment are managed and controlled according to the hospital’s policy
•Health and safety standards are maintained
•Client expectations regarding support service are met
•Guidelines of International Patient Safety Goals and evidence- based practice are adhered to
•Adapt and maintain a customer-focused mindset that acknowledges the importance and value of the customer, and act accordingly
•Participating in patient client safety and risk minimizing activities
