They assess, diagnose and treat clients for a variety of disorders including:

• Childhood speech and language disorders

• Stammers

• Acquired speech and language disorders (such as from brain injury or disease)

• Voice disorders

• Eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties.

• Speech therapy for the cochlear implant patients

• Speech and Language Therapists also work with clients who cannot communicate through normal means to develop alternative forms of communication, or use specialized computer devices. They work and liaise with parents, careers and other professionals, such as teachers, nurses, occupational therapists and doctors.

Qualification

BSc in Speech-language pathology/ Speech and language therapy /Speech pathology /Speech therapy/Speech And language pathologist /Speech and language therapist

Minimum of two (2) years’ experience post certification in Speech and phonetics in a hospital or clinical settings.

OR

BSc in Communication or Psychology or Linguistics And Master’s program in speech language pathology from an accredited educational institution, college or university

Minimum of one (1) years’ experience post certification in Speech and phonetics in a hospital or clinical settings

Preferred Arabic national with license to practice in UAE
